Coming Home to Body
Coming Home to You

Hi! I'm Jane

My wish as you read is to welcome you and your body into a feeling of sitting in the cosiest living room together, where we can both settle in, laugh over tea (I'm from Scotland, may there aiways be tea!) and get to know each other a wee bit.

I'm a Somatic Practitioner ("soma" is Greek and has come to mean "the body living in it's wholeness"- which I just love) so- when we work together - in every session, we bring the body into the conversation.

I love helping people feel more at home in themselves and their bodies in gentle ways.

And I like starting fires under people too!

I love to dance, spend time in nature, eat good food and be a goof ball.

Working with our bodies to welcome more joy, power, play and pleasure is my jam.

WHY SOMATICS?

Because our bodies can be a place of such joy and pleasure!

Knowing the language of our bodies and over time befriending our bodies, can bring huge relief and connection to ourselves, other beings and the world around us.

Somatic ExperiencingTM, developed by Dr Peter Levine, is a naturalistic, neurobiological, body oriented approach for renegotiating and healing the after-affects of traumatic events.

In sessions together we work with the nervous system through movement, touch, sound and sensation to allow the completion of thwarted survival responses (fight/flight/freeze/fawn) and support the nervous system into greater safety and flow between feeling states.

Working together with the nervous system, significant shifts can be made to deeply ingrained patterns that though may be well recognized and understood, they still hook you in.

What Clients Say

"Working with Jane was immediately effective-I felt happier and more relaxed after our first session. Jane helped me find actual strategies-words, images, motions-that could be applied to any situation of stress, self doubt, being gentle with others, and so much more. In the past, traditional therapy allowed me to express my emotions but not necessarily heal or understand what I was feeling"
